dc.description.abstractIn my thesis I shall deal with English monolingual dictionaries from their origin to present day. First of all I will look at how various writers describe computational linguistics as such, as computational lexicography is part of that field. Then I will follow by considering lexicography and computational lexicography itself. In the third part of the thesis I would like to give an account on the history of dictionaries, and then I will continue with outlining the history of electric dictionaries and will give detail about some computerized dictionaries.hu_HU
