Abstract Although the exact pathway that leads to this motor neuron disease – amyotrophic lateral sclerosis remains unclear and thus the treatment is not yet elucidated. Here, I will show some important pathological pathways that could result to the death of motor neurons and also bring to light how the pathological pathway in the familial case is similar to that in the sporadic case of ALS. The experiments for determining the cause of the disease in familial case of ALS will majorly be investigated in mutant mouse model in different genes that are linked to ALS in comparison to their corresponding normal genes. Indeed, I observed a relation between the pathogenesis of the defective genes and other pathways that leads to ALS and the symptoms of ALS. In all, I will show how ALS can be treated symptomatically by postulating mechanisms that targets the defects that arise from the mutant genes and other possible pathways that results in death of neuronhu_HU
