This study investigates how hypoxic conditions influence the circadian clock during chondrogenic differentiation. Differentiating chondrocytes are used as a model to examine cartilage development and cellular metabolic regulation. The work evaluates how low oxygen tension affects core circadian clock gene expression and downstream rhythmic cellular processes. Findings suggest that hypoxia modulates interactions between hypoxia-inducible signaling pathways and circadian regulation. Overall, the results provide insight into how oxygen availability shapes circadian biology during skeletal tissue development and regeneration, within the context of new therapeutic avenues for Osteoarthritis.
