dc.description.abstractAlthough bone scintigraphy has a low degree of specificity, it is a sensitive method for detecting abnormal bone mineralization. When used on cancer patients as well as those being evaluated for benign bone diseases, SPECT/CT has greatly increased the diagnostic precision of bone scintigraphy. The diagnostic process is sped up, patient anxiety is reduced, and tracer-avid foci are accurately visualized. SPECT/CT offers an added utility for identifying benign bone lesions thanks to its ability to fuse functional data and anatomically localize lesions. The aim of this Thesis is to evaluate the appearance of benign primary bone tumors on bone SPECT/CT in context of clinical symptoms and radiological imaging based on the published literature data.
