Anti-Icing and De-Icing Technologies

Abstract

This paper was made to analyze anti-icing and de-icing system as a crucial component in flight operations, by means of various controls, and review their application in real life. By having a brief overview into weather conditions, we made sure how exactly it can affect the safety and how pilots should adjust the route or activate the appropriate system on a timely manner. After having a look on standard regulations and guidelines on an international level like ICAO and local levels in mountainous area of Kazakhstan, the differences got highlighted in procedures and actions. It could be also noticed that various technologies have their own benefits and drawbacks which makes the room for the manufacturer to choose the most effective option according to customers’ needs. Future of anti-icing and de-icing technologies should include more innovative approach in safety and efficiency
