ADHF continue to be one of the major cause of death and hospitalization in the world, as recorded from statistics.The objectives of this thesis was to investigate the pharmacological treatment of heart failure. As seen from evidence based studies, various treatments has been employed for the treatment of ADHF including diuretics, vasodilatory drugs like nesiritide, nitro-glycerine and nitroprusside has proven of good use.Beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, ARB blockers can be used for the long term treatment of ADHF.
