dc.description.abstractThe current thesis intends to deal with three Hungarian travelogues written in the second half of the 19th century. The focus will be on Béla Széchenyi’s Amerikai utam. Kivonatok 1862-ki naplómból (My American Journey. Extracts From My Diary of 1862; published in 1863); Éjszak-Amerika 1876-ban by Aurél Kecskeméthy (North-America in 1876, published in 1877); and Budapesttıl San-Franciscoig by Zsigmond Falk (From Budapest to San Francisco, published in 1895). After the introduction, the common topics of the writings and then the personal and political background of the three authors will be described.hu_HU
