Philip Larkin's Poetry: A Contemporary Case of Modern Existentialism
Absztrakt
This thesis examines Philip Larkin's poems in the light of modern existentialism. Works of philosophers, such as Heidegger, Sartre, Jaspers, and Kierkegaard place sharp emphasis on the question of human existence. They attempt to explore the true nature of life using time, death, and the self for their understanding. Philip Larkin's poems also refer to such existential modes of thoughts. Therefore, the thesis intends to situate Philip Larkin's poems within the framework of modern existentialism.
