| dc.description.abstract | The thesis discusses mainly about the metabolic syndrome and its subcategories. The subcategories consists of Insulin Resistance, Central Obesity, Hypertension and Dyslipidemia. The thesis first briefly mention the etiologies and risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis but focuses mainly on the treatment, especially emphasizing the pharmacological drugs. When discussing about the pharmacological aspects of the diseases, it is written based on their mechanisms of action, contraindications, and adverse effects. Finally, the thesis further goes through the intimate relationships between these diseases showing how they affects each other and the common indications of their drugs. | |
