Crossbites are a common dental discrepancy in the buccolingual relationship of the upper and lower teeth, where either one or more of the teeth connected to the maxilla fit behind the teeth on the mandible. This study will highlight the treatment of posterior crossbite using fixed appliances alongside a presentation of the types of fixed appliances utilized in the correction of posterior crossbites. Surgical processes are preferred because of their efficiency and effectiveness in correcting malocclusions. Generally, a combination of orthopedic and orthodontic tooth movements is required for the correction of the transverse discrepancy. it should be emphasized that correcting posterior crossbite at a young age, during early mixed dentition, is very important because the appliances and rapid maxillary expanders can be utilized to open mid-palatal suture when the suture can open.hu_HU
