dc.description.abstractThe group of anxiety disorders is the most prevalent of the mental disorders. Studies have shown that, at any given time, the worldwide frequency of anxiety disorders is 7.3%. People that suffer from anxiety experience a lot of psychological and physical symptoms. The symptoms that people experience can restrain them a lot in daily life and cause them to not function properly in the society. There are many drugs available for treating anxiety that work in different ways and have different side effects. Not all the drugs have been shown to be efficient in treating all types of anxiety disorders. The aim of this thesis is to take a look at and summarize the different classes of medications available, look at their mechanism of action, what type of anxiety within the anxiety disorders they treat best and the side effects their users might experience.hu_HU
