The main objective of my dissertation is to examine what kind of challenges American Middle Easterners and Muslims had to face, through putting the date of September 11 in the focus, in the last ten years. On the one hand, it is an indisputable fact that 9/11 had a huge impact on the lives of Americans. On the other hand, it is also important to demonstrate how the hostility and harassments toward Middle Easterners increased and their lives also became such a nightmare. Many of them found themselves accused for something that they have nothing to do with as many other Americans. They try to cope with all the challenges emergent after 9/11 but nothing seems to help them to justify themselves. There was only one thing they are labelled with, which is “terrorism,” and unfortunately many people were too ready to believe that it is the way they are.hu_HU
