The study examined the technical efficiency of dairy farms in rural Nigeria. The purpose of this study was to estimate the socio-economic characteristics of dairy farmers, measure the technical efficiency level of dairy farms, and identify factors influencing the efficiency level of dairy farms. The data used was from the General Household Survey (GHS Panel) for the year 2018-2019 wave, information about agricultural production was obtained and the study used complete information of 73 dairy farms for analysis. The method of analysis employed includes descriptive statistics and the Data Envelopment Analysis Model using the SPSS package and the R-studio software. The findings show that not all the sampled dairy farms in Nigeria are fully efficient and revealed that they can improve their technical efficiency to aid milk production. In addition, the study revealed that farm size, farmer's age, zone, and grazing system affect technical efficiency while education level does not have a significant effect on farm efficiency.hu_HU
