The current role of fluoropyrimidines in cancer chemotherapy

Abstract

The main aim of chemotherapy has always been to destroy tumor cells without necessarily affecting the normal cells, hence the need for more directly acting drugs. Fluoropyrimidine are directly acting cells with a great future in chemotherapeutic treatment of various cancers such as breast and gastrointestinal cancers.
