dc.description.abstract- The small interfering RNA (siRNA) is a class of double-stranded, mostly exogenous RNA molecules, typically 20-25 base pairs in length, involved in post-transcriptional gene silencing. It can be used in research, but there are also a few therapeutic applications. - In our research, we investigated the inhibition of EGF-R using a predesigned siRNA in F1-4 CHO cancer cells, which express EGF-R with GFP so that it can be detected based on fluorescence. - We transfected F1-4 cells and analyzed the cells with fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. - Our experiments were successful, as about 30% of the cells showed low fluorescence compared to the control cells. - The successful knock down means that this siRNA can be used for further experiments in the project in the future.
