dc.description.abstractThis thesis provides a thorough examination of the challenges and opportunities Kyrgyzstan faces as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), with a particular focus on economic integration. It explores the theoretical frameworks of economic union, including neoclassical and customs union theories, to understand the potential benefits and limitations for smaller economies within larger trading blocs. Through qualitative analysis, the study highlights key issues for Kyrgyzstan, such as trade imbalances, reliance on remittances, and regulatory alignment challenges, while also considering geopolitical factors like Russia's influence. The research effectively outlines both the gains and setbacks Kyrgyzstan experiences in the EAEU, offering specific recommendations for strengthening its integration. Overall, the thesis contributes valuable insights into regional economic integration for smaller economies in post-Soviet spaces. Its findings are relevant for policymakers and scholars focused on Central Asian economics and international trade relations.
