This thesis examines the extent to which intercultural communication barriers affect the operational effectiveness of multinational businesses. The theoretical framework integrates foundational models, including Hofstede's cultural dimensions, Hall's context-orientation theory, and Trompenaars and Hampden-Turner's seven cultural dimensions. Employing a quantitative survey of 200 respondents working in culturally diverse environments, the study uses descriptive statistics and Spearman's rank correlation analysis to identify significant relationships between communication obstacles and organizational outcomes. The empirical results demonstrate that language-related misunderstandings, divergent communication styles, and conflicting cultural values negatively affect team productivity, decision-making quality, and workplace harmony, while also revealing strong positive correlations among these barriers. The thesis concludes by proposing evidence-based recommendations, including structured intercultural training, language support mechanisms, cultural intelligence development, and team-building initiatives, to help multinational organizations transform cultural diversity from a potential source of conflict into a strategic asset.
