Acid-base balance is a complex and delicate system regulated by multiple components that have a critical function in the human body. The balance of acid and bases is a key component in keeping the homeostasis of blood plasma. Any disturbance of the balance is essentially a disturbance of the hydrogen ion concentration in the plasma or the pH, which can cause denaturation of proteins, enzyme dysfunction and loss, and cell death.hu_HU
