Several cases prove today that African Americans are often racially discriminated against – in school, at the workplace, at trial or even in their neighborhood. In my thesis I shall analyze two well-known events: the 1991-‘92 case of Rodney King and the 2006-‘07 case of the Jena Six. In my analysis I am going to highlight all the important details which prove that racial motivation had a role in both cases. After the analysis I am going to focus on the comparison of the two cases both from the aspect of racial motivation and the nature of public response.
