Fairy tales have always played a crucial role in children’s lives. Parents tell children tales from the day they are born either to make them fall asleep or just to entertain them. Many say that today’s fairy tales are about influencing people’s ideology from the early beginnings by putting out a role model for young women and children and also by maintaining gender roles in a patriarchal worldview. In my thesis I am mainly focusing on the gender roles, the concept of good vs. evil and the importance of feminine beauty, in fairy tales, more specifically, in the Cinderella story; moreover, on the impact of all these on children`s moral values and world view.hu_HU
