dc.description.abstractthe following results of childhood emotional trauma : limiting beliefs, poor self concept, disconnection from the present moment have the capacity to perpetuate psychopathology and psychiatric illnesses, making them worse or acting as a continuous trigger for psychiatric illnesses. In order to properly treat psychiatric illnesses, we must handle these main results of childhood trauma . We can do this by focusing on treatment practices that draw patients to the present moment, improve self esteem, enhance self compassion and self love. Also by replacing limiting beliefs to allow for more freedom to be. When we teach patients to develop these practices discussed above eg yoga and meditation, we are indeed helping them to heal even outside of the hospital setting thereby providing long lasting results.
