This research paper presents a deep correlation on how beliefs and behaviors are associated with the various processes of how mental health and diseases are handled in a cultural context and the social groups in which they occur. It argued that mental health and the associated diseases are an integral part of this cultural system with its corresponding social groups and the social realities that produce them. This presents their influence on treatment decisions and behaviors among the various African cultures.
