Absztrakt

VEGF family stimulate cellular responses by binding to the VEGFRs which are tyrosine kinase receptors on the cell surface. This causes them to dimerize and become activated through transphosphorylation. The role of VEGFs in vasculogenesis is complemented by basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), transforming growth factor β (TGF-β), angiopoietins and PDGFs. As a vital regulator of tumor angiogenesis, VEGF is certainly an important target for prevention and limitation of malignant diseases especially solid tumors.
