dc.description.abstractMy thesis begins with a definition of COVID-19 and an analysis of the pandemic's serious consequences, such as disruptions to global supply chains, widespread business closures, and unprecedented levels of unemployment. The research gives a general outline of the pandemic's spread in early 2020, describing its accompanying global public health actions. It discusses the quick transition to remote work and the implementation of new safety procedures in physical workplaces to lessen the spread of the virus. After that, it explores the processes through which the pandemic has influenced labor inequality, including the unequal effects across industries and sectors, the disproportionate impact on vulnerable populations, and gender disparity. This study offers helpful insight into the complex aspects of inequality that the pandemic has increased through a thorough review of economic data and policy initiatives implemented by various countries around the world.
