This thesis is a literature review which focuses on the intraoperative complications that can occur due to anesthesia. Certain anesthetic agents are used for the induction of anesthesia. Therefore their side effects can occur in the pre-operative period. However these anesthetic agents can also be used for the maintenance of anesthesia, therefore their complications can also occur intraoperatively. This is a crucial phenomenon constantly re-iterated by this dissertation. It primarily focuses on the intraoperative complications rather than the medications themselves.
