Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, the control over the spreading of COVID-19 was performed by: implementing lockdown measures, which were supposed to limit impersonal contacts; free testing policies, which allowed early identification and isolation of patients even with minor symptoms; obligatory usage of personal protective equipment; obeying social distancing and curfews. Being impressive for their scale, these interventions inevitably led to global economic recession with long-term consequences we are yet to discover. Thereby, a balanced response leading to the best outcome with minimal economic consequences is an important research goal. This work outlines some aspects of risk management and issue management strategies and reviews available outcomes of the pandemic in a number of countries.hu_HU
