dc.description.abstractIn this paper, I researched the field of foreign investment and poverty reduction in relation to economic growth in Nigeria, as in the present study my hypothesis is, that Foreign Direct Investment may benefit Nigeria in the matter of Poverty Reduction through an achieved Economic Growth. I started my reserach by overviewing the Nigerian economy in general, defining the important keywords of my thesis; and then by analyzing the relation of foreign direct investment, economic growth and poverty in general, according to previous studies. I also infused my experiences of my field trip in Nigeria into this research. I continued my study by analysing the relation of foreign direct investment, economic growth and poverty in the specific Nigerian case, based on articles of other researchers. After that I did a SWOT analysis of the the Nigerian Economy in order to understand the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of this country. I went on by analysing the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, that the Nigerian administration has published in 2017. In the end I compared actual statistics that show the current situation of the rates of my research topic, and this is how in the very end I reached the point of capability to answer my original question, which is the base of my hypothesis: Does Foreign Direct Investment benefit Nigeria in the matter of Poverty Reduction, through an achieved Economic Growth?hu_HU
