The study focuses on a road construction project and identifies the fundamental elements and key areas that construction projects should comprehend and execute effectively to establish a good monitoring and controlling system. In this study, these foundational components and focus areas serve as essential instruments for analysis and examination. and reveals that while data collection for monitoring and control of cost, time, and scope is routine, documentation falls short of expectations. Despite the availability of input data, there is a gap in utilizing this data for analysis, leading to incomplete documentation. Recommendations of this study include government as well as engineering-related associations need to put more effort into attitude change, capacity-building through short-term training programs, and the establishment of project management and software training centers in the region.
