Eight (8) onion (Allium spp.) cultivars were cultivated and treated by selenium in order to detect the ability of them to accumulate this element and to produce selenosugars. The aim of the thesis was to prove the reproducibility of selenosugar formation in onions, to unambiguously detect them with high resolution ESI-MS and to provide an at least approximate value for their concentration.hu_HU
