dc.description.abstractThe thesis paper will inspect themes of Afrofuturism and neo-slave narrative genre in Colson Whitehead's multi-award winning book. Moreover, an exploration of these themes to the past will take place as well as it will highlight unique features of the book. Firstly, the paper will define and differenciate the differences between the neo-slave narrtive and the slave narrative genre. Secondly, it will provide a brief introduction to the historical background that the book is built on, which will be followed by a definition of Afrofuturism and a short summary of the book. The majority of the paper will deal with the analysis of The Underground Railroad. The aim of the paper is to shed light on the references to real life events as well as to inspect the most prevalent features of the novel.hu_HU
