The unprecedented influx of English loan-words in contemporary Italian and its subsequent influence on Italian vocabulary has become much more obvious than ever before. In the modern age, more and more English words sneak into Italian, often without any transformation at all. My thesis is an attempt to identify any pattern which could govern the assimilation of English loans.
