In contemporary cinema there are many movies that return to the goals of morality plays of the Middle Ages. In other words, they try to teach about good and evil through developing and delivering a hero character who can act as a guide in this process. One of the most popular themes in movie history is the depiction of the fight between the two moral powers on Earth: good and evil. It has always been an interesting topic for many screenplays, and also directors like turning to this idea. The aim of this paper is to reflect on the fact that the hero and his character are crucial in delivering the teachings of their respective movies and in reaching similar goals as morality plays used to do some centuries ago.
