dc.description.abstract | Web-based applications have progressively been used for many decades to simplify business activities and to effectively convey information to many end users, but ambiguity has always been one of the obstacles facing the development processes with lack of effective information flow. This study will deeply explore the basic information need of a potential voter and takes the opportunity to develop a client-side web application for a web-based voter’s information system for Nigerian electorate commission. Nigeria practices an old conventional system to conduct general elections across the country as well as voter education and awareness which oversees by the country’s Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC) and with the current country’s conventional system, election frauds and lack of effective information, voter education and voter’s awareness have been witnessed and recorded by local and international observers during and after elections in the country. As a result, the author is taking this opportunity to propose a static and well-designed website that presents the voters with all necessary information and therefore could be the starting point of a more comprehensive web-based voter’s information system that would effectively help towards voter’s electorate related information, voter’s education and awareness in Nigeria. To achieve this and tackle the current country’s electoral challenges, vital data will be required from some selected Nigerians which will be collected via questionnaire and interview in quantitative and qualitative manner with the aim to convey and support the proposed voter’s information system in this study. More so, a statistical analysis of the collected data will be performed to determine the level of support and acceptance of Nigerians with regard to the proposed system and based on that, an effective voter’s information system will be developed that will potentially educate Nigerian electorates on elections related information and activities in the country. | hu_HU |
