| dc.description.abstract | Carbohydrates are a significant class of natural products that play important roles in biological processes such as bacterial or viral infections, cancer signaling, metastasis, and inflammation. In addition to studies on oligosaccharides for vaccine applications, monosaccharide mimetics are being synthesized as potential drug candidates in medicinal chemistry. This study is of practical significance because it paves the way for developing new antibiotics and anti-cancer molecules that can overcome resistance to existing drugs. This thesis describes the synthesis of several novel compounds, including nucleotide-type compounds and several half-sandwich metal complexes. Additionally, it highlights the biological study results of the most potent structures. | |
