This thesis tried to present an analysis of production data obtained from Tunisian native speakers with advanced English proficiency. The study was designed to examine the impact of French as a second language L2 on the English oral production of Tunisian native speakers. there were The subjects were given a list of French - English cognates to pronounce. The aim was to see where would Tunisian spekers place the stress in the English target words. Results revealed that participants the pronounciation of the experimental group was influenced by the apparant activation of L2 words that resemble the intended words in the target language English.
