”Don’t be so rude, be polite.” This is often the first rule of etiquette that we learn from our mothers. The basics of everyday human interaction are built into us from a very early age. Politeness, according to Gumperz, ” is basic to the production of social order, and a precondition of human cooperation and by nature is reflected in language.” Another definition stands like this:” In being polite a speaker is attempting to create an implicated context (the speaker stands in relation x to the addressee in respect of act y) that matches the one assumed by the addressee.” (Introduction)
