My work aim is to reason the necessity of Ranger units amongst the ranks of the US Army by listing major conflicts in the 20th century such as the World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars, the invasion of Grenada and Panama in which the Ranger units participated in. The Ranger forces had been deactivated numerous times during this period. However the units were reactivated during in times of need during these conflicts. This uncertainty lasted up until 1974 when the permanent Ranger Regiment had been established, the last two conflicts in my work, the wars in Grenada and Panama are the first two conflicts in which the Rangers participated as a permanent, individual military unit.hu_HU
