Main aim of this thesis is review of literature concerning diabetes and it's effects on the skin, the pathomechanism of diabetic skin symptoms. Prevention and treatment of diabetic foot syndrome with a focus on the negative pressure wound technology. Demonstration of a case report with a patient suffering a diabetic foot ulcer and the treatment results using negative pressure wound therapy.
