In the realm of web application development, video streaming services have emerged as a cornerstone of digital media consumption. This thesis delves into the creation of a video streaming platform, designed to echo the functionality of industry giants like YouTube. The project’s journey from conception to fruition is chronicled, beginning with an extensive analysis of existing services, followed by the meticulous crafting of system requirements and the strategic design of a MongoDB database schema. The implementation phase saw the harmonious integration of backend technologies such as Java and Node.js with modern frontend frameworks like React, culminating in a seamless user experience. Key features implemented include video uploading, streaming, likes, tracking, commenting, and robust user authentication mechanisms. The platform underwent rigorous testing to ensure stability and performance, with subsequent deployment on a carefully selected web hosting service. This thesis encapsulates the challenges surmounted and the knowledge gleaned, serving as both a testament to the transformative power of web technologies and a beacon for future explorations in the domain of video-sharing platforms.
