Temporary Anchorage devices (TADs) have revolutionized orthodontics treatment methodologies, offering more precise and efficient approaches to complex malocclusions. These devices, categorized as extra-alveolar and intra-alveolar TADs, provide high stability, reduce undesired dental displacements, and improve management in intricate treatment situations. They are effective in addressing various malocclusions, rectifying skeletal irregularities, and enhancing tooth repositioning predictability. Intra-alveolar TADs, such as mini-implants or micro-implants, demonstrate remarkable adaptability and accuracy, facilitating localized anchorage within the alveolar bone. Their unique characteristics, including biocompatibility and durability, provide customized solutions for precise tooth adjustments, resulting in enhanced precision and decreased treatment duration. The clinical use of TADs spans a broad range of orthodontic complexities, addressing issues like molar distalization, space closure, open bites, deep bites, and skeletal discrepancies.
