dc.description.abstractIn recent years, governments in advanced countries, such as the United States, have taken a conservative stance, revoked pro-abortion laws, and introduced new anti-abortion regulations. In 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a landmark decision that protected women's federal rights to abortion up until the first trimester. This thesis provides a historical overview of past and present abortion regulations in the United States from a feminist perspective with a focus on the Jane Collective, an underground organization established by women in Chicago in the 1960s. It also discusses the connection between abortion culture, reproductive health services, and the social, economic, and mental impact of the overturn. It will also offer a couple of recent case studies in post-Roe v. Wade America that reflect on the overall demeanor of the revocation and the current situation of the female sex in the United States.
