This thesis highlights an overview of the epidemiology, risk factors, pathomechanism and diagnosis, with special attention to pharmacological strategies involved in the treatment of CAD. Symptomatic alleviation and secondary prophylaxis of coronary artery disease are the goals of pharmacological treatment. Medical management remains the cornerstone of care, however, with persistent symptoms and drug intolerance, revascularization through procedures like percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary artery bypass graft, have a significant impact. in addition, risk assessment and prevention strategies are also discussed in detail.
