Absztrakt

The purpose of this Thesis is to evaluate, from a periodontal perspective, the association that exists between bruxism and periodontal health. An in-depth analysis and a review of the pertinent research literature were conducted as part of this Thesis, which has as its primary objective the comprehension of the consequences of bruxism on the periodontium. Bruxism, which is characterized by the involuntary clenching, grinding, or bracing of teeth, has long been the focus of clinical attention and scientific inquiry. Psychosocial causes, genetic predisposition, drugs, occlusal interferences, trauma, and correlations with other medical disorders all contribute to its complex etiology. A thorough literature search revealed the widespread occurrence of bruxism and the damaging effects it has on the teeth, periodontium, and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
