Irrigation is essential during endodontic treatment and to fulfill all the requirements of irrigation, combination of different types of irrigants is needed to achieve the desired optimal irrigation. NaOCl is the gold standard irrigation material; it is a popular antimicrobial irrigant and also an organic tissue solvent but still toxic. It can cause damages and severe complications if accidentally extruded beyond the apex of the root canal and come in contact with the periradicular tissues. Damages like necrosis of tissues and ulceration, pain, swelling, hematoma, and ecchymosis or more severe and can lead to life threatening conditions. It is essential to prevent accidents of extrusion of NaOCl by using a rubber dam and protect the patient, and the dentist with protecting equipment; for example, eye protection is necessary.hu_HU
