In this study, we have demonstrated how to calculate crop water requirement. The ability to quantify temporal variations in soil moisture and the unsaturated zone aids in the identification of recharge episodes and provides an early warning of soil water depletion or agricultural drought. Because of the increased usage and validation of modeling approaches, soil water parameters may now be determined indirectly. To this end, we demonstrated the use of management zones to irrigate crops for optimal water usage. The study demonstrated the use of precision irrigation tools to make informed decisions about irrigation planning. The results illustrate evidence based decision making to reduce irrigation water waste.
