Hashimoto Thyroiditis is an autoimmune thyroid disease and the most common cause of hypothyroidism in iodine adequate area. Thyroid hormone is an important hormone for growth, CNS development, cardiovascular system, and metabolism in human body. The main pharmacological management is an oral tablet form of levothyroxine monotherapy. Soft gel capsules and liquid form of levothyroxine are available in case of malabsorption. For euthyroid or subclinical hypothyroid patients, supportive treatment with selenium and myo-inositol are recommended.
