After independence, Tunisia experienced an important period of prosperity and economic development. However, this period did not continue due to mismanagement at some point, which led to a great increase in public debt and economy recession. To tackle this problem, the country went to the IMF for a loan. But the loan was not for free, there were some conditions to be implemented. As a result of the structural program, some social and economic problems rose.
