The role of calcium antagonist in management of hypertension
Absztrakt
Calcium antagonists are one of the first line medication in management of hypertension. They inhibit action of L-type Calcium channel in vascular smooth muscle and myocardiocytes. Therefore, they inhibit the vasoconstriction as well as heart contraction. In antoher words, they cause vasodilation and decrease heart contraction. Among caclium channel blocker types, dihydropyridine is the most common use in the management of hypertension due to their selectivity for arterial blood vessels.
