Cardiac remodeling certainly plays a role in the progression of HF. As a result, inhibiting the remodeling process is a critical treatment strategy for HF. Cardiovascular remodeling is influenced by therapeutic drugs such as ACE inhibitors and beta-blockers, which decrease morbidity and death in patients with HF. Although cardiac myocytes were previously thought to be terminally differentiated cells incapable of regeneration, it has been recently shown that cardiac myocytes proliferate after myocardial infarction in both animals and humans. As a result, it is possible that enhancing cardiac myocyte regeneration and stimulating neovascularization may help avoid cardiac remodeling and progression to HF. Due to the fact that depleted cardiac myocytes result in LV dilatation and hypertrophy of the remaining myocytes under pathological circumstances, myocyte regeneration seems to be a potential approach for cardiac remodeling. Additional research is required to create more effective and targeted treatments for cardiac remodeling.
