In this thesis I am investigating the causative alternation in the English and the Hungarian languages. Throughout the discussion I applied Levin and Rappaport's Decausativization model in analyzing the data. The issue of external and internal causation is an esential part of the thesis. The direction of derivation suggested by Levin and Rappaport seems to be verified on the basis of analyzed data.hu_HU
